Best overshoes for rainy weather

Hello,

What is the best option for rainy trainings?

I have the following overshoes:

  1. neoprene - fully waterproof, but shoes full of your own sweat.
  2. laycra - water in shoes.

The question about these types:

  1. windstopper - warm, but how much waterproof they?
  2. gore-tex - waterproof, but what about breathability and sweat inside?
  3. sealskinz overshoes? I have socks - they are not bad, but I do not know about overshoes.

Thank you.

If it’s positively pouring, I’ll be soaked through and through anyhow and I use belgian booties - thick socks. Sure, Water gets in no problem, but at least it also gets out at some point if the rain stops. Once my arse is soaked, I might as well have soaked shoes.

However, if the rain isn’t biblical and I stand a chance of shielding myself, Assos rainBooties do the trick very well. My skinny calves required some tightening around the top, but they do an excellent job without overheating me.

Thank you, I know about main options

, but would like to know: maybe some high-tech options like gore-tex or windstopper or sealskinz could do life better.

I’ve never known a more high-techy and overengineered product than an Assos garment

It’s their own fabric, but it works similar to gore-tex I assume. Waterproof breathable stretch membrane that looks like a stripper’s boot, silicone seal at the ankle, more wind- and wear-resistant fabric at the toes. As I said, they seem to be doing a terrific job at keeping water at bay when I wear them.

160$ ! for overshoes! not sure that I am ready for so high-tech
