I am geting ready to pull the trigger and buy a new bike and given the LBS doesn’t carry QR I am going the online route. Any recommendations?
Have you been on one and know the size you want to order?
Yes I know exactly what I am going to be ordering but in the past always had the luxury of a top notch tri shop nearby so haven’t ever ever purchased something major like a bike online before.
I purchased a bike from Competitive Cyclist last year. They gave me an extremely good price on a stock bike, and were willing to trade-out any and all components that I wanted for upgrades.
I would highly recommend them.
I think Nytro had some deals on QR’s depending on the model.
Try all3sports.com. I got my r2.5 there and the process was easy. I believe they also have a FISTer there that can help with any sizing / fine tuning.
Well, speaking from having used quite a few different online retailers, nobody comes close to the customer service Trisport.com offers. They are absolutely incredible. For me the service before and after the sale are bar none the best in the industry. They go out of their way to ensure you get what you want and when you want it. They have gone WAY out of their way with a few of my purchases and have earned themselves a life long customer (except for bikes, I have to be able to touch that purchase). And if you knew me, you would know that says a lot. I am a very finicky consumer and do not give out loyalties loosely.
And I am not affiliated with them at all. I live in Canada so it would be pretty hard to be.
I really can’t say enough good things about them.
I have to agree with tryemedad above - Competitive Cyclist was a good place to order my bike - I don’t believe they show QR as being one of their lines online though - I bought my Litespeed from them and it was great! You could customize your bike and it automatically calculated the weight as you swapped out parts. Brendan at Competitive is an honest guy to work with and I plan on doing business with him again.
