Best Low Frills Tubes

I’ve been running latex tubes for a few years now and am getting tired of having them deflate after every ride.

What’s the best/fastest no frills clincher tube on the market? Want something that’s sturdy and won’t give me the willies when I’m flying down a hill at 40mps.

Thanks.

Why are you deflating your tires? FWIW, I like the Vittoria latex tubes, they seem to hold pressure better than other brands I’ve tried. They still need to be topped off before each ride, but I always check my tires with a pump anyway (latex or butyl). In my experience they only lose about 5psi overnight.

Any quality tube shouldn’t scare you on descents.

I have been using Michelin Butyl (very light) tubes for 10 years, I never deflate them. I have never heard of someone deflating their tires. I inflate for every ride unless it was just done the day before.

I have had no problems with quality, only the very seldom puncture (like less than 1 per year usually).

That’s an old roadie myth. Had guy that I used to ride with who swore by it. Said his tires lasted longer that way. He’d deflate them everynight after he got back from a ride.

I like Continental Race Light tubes for training rides as they are durable and hold air very well.

i think this person is referring to how they lose pressure overnight. But regardless, even with butyl you need to put a little air in your tires day in and day out.
Latex all the way.
