At least thats how I’ve been positioned for almost the last 2 months. In & out on gold. I think Netflix is done—just irreperable damage to their core base—stock down 60%+ in last 90 days–and their gamble on streaming v core model has absolutely blown up in their face.
STD is a safe bet in that their stock is meeting resistance at $7-8 after a 1 year free-fall, but their dividend is over 10% and if you ignore the daily fluctuations & look at the underlying financial assets its a relatively safe bet.
You’ll get some flat-earthers decrying my bets, but that is what investing is all about.
there are a bunch of options this could be invested depending on so many factors:
how is your 401K/RRSP, if any? how is your mortgage, if any? any debts? how old are you? kids? Etc…

If I had $30K right now I would buy real estate. Go buy yourself an inexpensive retirement home somewhere and lock in the lowest rates we will ever see.

I agree with Yahey, levering up and buying real estate is the best thing you could do for two reasons:

Absurdly low rates

You’ll be able to pay back your loan with worthless USD’s–just remember to stash away a few ounces of gold to pay off your note with.
