I want to dedicate a rear wheel to use indoors alone. What are some brands that are inexpensive and where to get a single rear wheel?

If your LBS uses Quality Bicycle Parts as a supplier, then they should be able to get you a pretty cheap Wheelhorse brand wheel. You’re probably looking at about $100-150, plus cassette, plus QR and rim strip, plus tube and tire. Or you could look for something dirt cheap on ebay.
