Best Hybrid Bike For $1,000

I am looking at buying a hybrid bike to ride when im not on my P3. I looked at the Trek 7700 and thought it was pretty cool. What is the difference between the 7700 and the 7700FX? What are some other options for the best Hybrid for around $1,000?

Check out the 2003 Jamis Coda Comp.

I have one that I am selling. It has approximately 75 miles on. $849.00 retail will part with for $600.00. It has a Cateye Astrale w/cadence installed on it already. Also have available Profile Airstryke aerobars w/ F-19 flipup arm pads. This bike never needed maintenance, however before a sale it will be taken it for a tuneup and packaged by LBS in New Orleans. That Trek is a nice bike, a bit gushy for an athlete however.

Look at the Coda, that’s nice, and Give the Felt SR71 a look as well. Be sure you give careful thought to the position on the bike, you’d be suprised at the saddle discomfort sitting “differently” on an upright bike can cause!
