I have a bike with 650 rims and need some good tubular race tires for them. I had decided on getting some Veloflex Record 650c tubulars in the off season. Well, when I tried to order them, I found out that they are out of stock at every online and offline retailer I could find…and no one knows when they’ll be getting another shipment (World Class has had them on back order for almost a year). I contacted the US distributor…no word on when if/when they’ll get some more.
So…it looks like I might not be able to get Veloflex Records in 650c…
What’s the best alternative for a race tubular?
Thanks!
Did you check these two? Neither show the as out of stock, but who knows if they have them or not.

i was too scared to even inquire with teamcyclist…i read the most awful reviews on the planet regarding ordering from them…including claiming they have stuff in stock when they don’t and never getting their order for months on end and refusing refunds! eek
i’ll definitely have to look into the other site though! thanks!
Struck out EVERYWHERE!!!
So…no Veloflex Record for me. Anyone have any other suggestions for the fastest race 650c tubular that I can actually buy?
Thanks!
I’ve got quite a few used Conti GPs that I’d sell you. Great, durable tires. I have at least 8 of them, so you could have some nice spares too.
I would recommend the Vittoria Corsa Evo CX. I think ProBikeKit still has them for a fair price, and they are great tires. Not quite as fast as the Record, but more durable and in general they are fast tires after you get some miles on them. Much better than the other options available.

Regarding PBK and the Vittoria Corsa EVO CX…
Is this the right size for my 650c Zipp 909 set: http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y0032
It says 26"…aren’t 650c and 26" rims totally different sizes!!! Am I confused?
Those are the right tires. Vittoria calls them 26 x NN, so that’s what ProBikeKit is advertising. In this case (but not all), they are the same size.

I’ve been running the EVOs on my H3s. Feel much faster rolling than the contis I had on them before. Good flat protection too.
Did the price on the EVO II go up a far bit?
Tufo’s…(as I cover up for the stoning)…
