Best extension for hands clasped hand position?

Ideally I like to have my arms almost like a triangle if you will as you look down while in the tt position. Elbows are the bases of the triangle and my hands clasped together kind of like praying position, not separated. I also like a slight tilt up on my wrists which I’m not able to get right now.

I have T2’s and when I rotate them inwards so that the ends nearly touch that fixes one part of the equation, but then I have zero rise and have to torque my wrists downward which is not ideal. If I use the T2’s in the default position then it separates my hands and puts stress on my shoulders…and it also forces a downward angle on the wrists so the default position isn’t my fav obviously. Tilting the extensions upwards is not an option b/e then it changes my arm pad orientation to where I can’t put the weight on them like I want to.

I tried the T1 extension briefly to get the desired angle for my wrist, but then I had to deal with having my hands apart.

I know I might be asking a lot of my bars and am searching for the total perfection tensionless bar setup…perhaps it’s not achievable? I can live with that, but want to ask b/c with the wealth of knowledge here perhaps there is a mass produced option or maybe a home made remedy.

Any and all ideas accepted and appreciated…thx:)

HED Lazy S or 3T CVV Special edition with your current extension mounts.

-SD

Hi Dave thanks!

2 things: How is the Lazy S andy different from the T2…they ‘look’ the exact same to me?

Also, do you perhaps have a link for the 3T? I went all over their site and couldn’t find a ‘CVV’ product…thanks.

I do something similar with T2s angled up 10-15 degrees and rotated inwards so the shifters almost touch, though my hands aren’t clasped.

For your problem I would make new armpads, and make them higher in the back so they are level- get some foam and then cut a gel mousepad or something for the pad-arm contact area, and velcro the bottom with some of that industrial strength velcro.

Alternatively, I saw a guy today with one of the alu felt aerobars, and goddamn that thing is slick. The lazy-S extension or whatever they use seem perfect for this arm position; the pad looks nice and the whole design is really minimalist and sexy. I think you can find one of these on ebay for < $100 every week or two.

Find an old pair of Scott Extremes on eBay:

.

Okay thanks for the great idea I’m already burning brain cells!

As far as the Felt…is that a full clip on setup or can I just buy the extension? Is it just called ‘Felt Aluminum Extension’? Thanks for the tips

I think it’s the devox or bayonet aluminum- it’s a full aerobar (but requires a separate stem):

I haven’t seen any on Ebay this week.

Alternatively, Ebay always has extensions for cheap, though they are different kinds of bends than you want:

Yes, these can be set up that same way, but the upsweep isn’t as great as the HED or 3T versions.

Using the Zipp Vuka pad extenders with our Bayonet base bar and f-bend extensions could yeild the same position the OP is looking for.
