Best crank and bottom bracket use with CinQo?

I am building out a bike and want to include the ability to support a CinQo Saturn. Love my PowerTap but tired of it only being on one wheel.

What crank and bottom bracket would you recommend? Right now the bike is spec to come with the SRAM Red BB and a SRAM Red crank. But Quarq informed me that the SRAM Red crank is not supported.

The bike I am building out is a P4.

Have you gone to Quarq’s website?

I believe they only support a few different cranks.

I am using a Specialized Carbon Crank with BB30 bottom bracket - pretty solid setup.

Are you doing Rec Plex next month? If so, will you have the bike by then?

Steve

I’m using the FSA Team and have been happy with it.

I have a SRAM Ceramic BB and the S900 crank with the Cinco. No issues so far. If I had BB30, I’d go with the Specialized. If you want your set up to match, I’d go with the S900 crank since it says SRAM on the crank arm. It is the same SRAM crank that SRM uses.

I am doing Recplex. Doubt I will have bike by then. Really building for next year but will be done by Thanksgiving. Will have bike for Orlando 70.3.

Never caught up with you last week at the race.

I had a decent race, short course, in 2nd overall just 5 seconds behind leader after swim and bike. With my crappy running ended up in 5th overall. 1st and 2nd overall were the same guys from the Ofallon race a week earlier that took 2nd and 3rd. I am in older age group so did not get to go with them. Would have been more fun.

My focus since last year was on the swim and went from 9:47 for a 1/4 mile in 2008 to 5:33 this year. Lots more work to do but happy with the progress. Now I am focusing on resolving my knee issues and running faster. This is my work. My fun is buying a new bike and the latest gadgets to go with it. Like I learned about the SRAM self centering shifters today. Now that is cool stuff. Really excited about trying the SRAM Red components. Also moving to tubulars to see what they are all about. I will finally also get to compare rear wheels with a crank powermeter solution over what I got today. Also able to do power with grade together in one place.

Cycling I am mostly looking for hills. Going through the 10 toughest local hills right now and doing repeats. Did repeats on Doberman at lunch. Last night did repeats on Babler Beast. Let me know if going on any longer rides. Like to get a group together from Valley to Washington and back. About 60 - 70 miles with about a mile of climbing. One climb there are dogs sometimes and need help fighting off the dogs :). My regular group has no interest :(.

Don’t see the Specialized listed on CinQo web site. Guess it is newly supported.

It is new. It might be on their blog, but I remember receiving an email about it or something.

Since the bike is already coming with the Red BB installed…just grab a CinQo with the SRAM S900 crank. Pop the red crank off and put on the S900. Easy, peasy one bolt action…uses the same bearings.

Then, get another set of GXP bearings for whatever other bikes you have and you can swap that CinQo around to whatever bike you want to ride that day…seriously, it takes less than a minute to swap the cranks once the bearings are in place.
