The $1.50 velcro ties (made for computer cables) that hold the $0 bottle (race swag) that holds my flat kit. Cheap, waterproof, and easy to move from bike to bike.

Awesome idea! I’ve thought of the water bottle to hold the supplies but not mounted like this. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

I think this would be my best cheap buy, fits: 2 tubes, mini pump, patch kit, leavers, multi tool, chain tool, iPhone, ID, Cash & keys.
Then fits nicly in a jersey pocket, just grab on go. no messing with which ever bike I’m on.

I run with these, too. Keep my fingers warm and help wipe snot off my nose when it’s too thin for snot rockets…

Zip ties will fix just about anything. I even used some to fix a broken spoke while MTBing.

What is that?

It’s a band that goes around your ankles while swimming to prevent one from kicking. It can help with body position and stroke mechanics, among other things.

Gotta agree with The Sloth, love using my screw shoes - they perform very well and I get a kick out of how cheap and easy they were/are to create. I made a dedicated pair of winter shoe out of Asics weather resistant trail shoes and screws many years ago and use them every winter. David K

Chain catcher.

is it noisy?

Not at all (never hear it when riding, even out of the saddle). Everything is tight enough in there that there’s no rattling. The tube kinda works to keep everything still and damped.

Found a blown car tire inner tube on a gravel road while running. Took it home and cut it into swim bands. Perfect size.

I made a behind the seat bottle holder, that holds 2 bottles, my pump and a spares bag, out of some spare stainless steel sheet I had lying around (that I’d picked up on a construction site). I patterned it off an old Minoura one I had 20+ years ago. Cost me nothing except about 2 hours to make it (stainless is a bitch to drill!)

It’s about 15 years old now. It looks like new even tho it’s on it’s third tri bike. It’s NEVER launched a bottle, well except for the time one of the ali cages broke when I hit a train crossing at over 60kph).

THAT is easily the best accessory I’ve ever had, regardless of price.

Old tubes also work well as swim bands.
