I have one of these beauties coming to me in the New Year, I hope. (Ordered in Sep but my LBS is giving me the Dual10 at Dual 2004 price). I am presently putting together a wish list for relatives to choose presents from. Would like to get it set up.
What think you all?
-
Bottle on seat tube plus Xlab Saddle Wing?
-
Bottle on seat tube plus front aero bottle?
-
All of the above?
-
None of the above.
Also. Bento Box? Looks like a good option, but does it interefere with aeroness too much?
Thanks
Chris
OK Point taken. But all things being equal?
As far as I understand, different bikes are more aero wiht different set ups. I was interested in this. If I can’t get at the bottle, then less aero position it is.

This is one of the questions that I don’t think you will get a definitive answer for. The wind tunnel tests I have read or heard about basically boil down to “depending on the specific rider and bike down tube, seat tube or aerobar bottles may be the best choice.” So if you can get your body and your bike in a tunnel you will get your answer.
My opinion (and I have never used one) is that the neverreach is a good solution, particularly if it can be mounted close to the seat. I think most other behind the seat carriers are an aero mess, basically a little wall in the worse place possible. Between frame and bar mounted bottles I dont think their is a huge difference.

I’m sold on the front aero bottle for short course tris. According to Cobb it’s the most aerodynamic and you don’t waste time fumbling for a bottle on the down tube or behind you. No risk of dropping a bottle either.
Thanks,
So basically makes very little difference. I will be racing IM next year for the first time, and I think 5 minutes here or there is not going to be an issue. Front aero and seat tube it is then. This is the easiest to get at, and therefore the best.
Thanks
