I just bought a new Cervelo p2 SL and want to ditch the factory water bottle mount on the downtube. Just curious what you guys recommend for a 2 bottle water holder for the seat rails?
I have an old Profile X-lab but like most Profile stuff it’s heavy.
Doesn’t have to have any accessories to hold inflators and stuff.

I bought the HydraTail water bottle holder mounted behind the seat with 2 Profile Design water bottle mounts attached. It’s fairly light and very easy to access while riding in the aero position. the Profile Design water bottle mounts come with small elastic bands that help keep the bottles from launching. I have not launched a water bottle yet and I have been on some bumpy rides.
One note though if you do buy the Hydratail, get the bike shop to bore out the plastic inserts and put through longer screws to securely attach the Hydratail to the seat. I found that the product is sold with short self tapping screws that do not hold the Hydratail secure for very long. Good luck.
Go with a Minoura Double Cage Mount and King Steel Cages. The bottles will sit low behind your ass, easy to reach and the cages won’t launch anything. T-Racer and I both have this set-up and haven’t lost a bottle in nearly 2 years. Best part, the whole set-up will cost you about half of the fancier plastic stuff out there.
