Best Bike Stand?

I’m looking for a bike stand to hold my bike while I clean/wrench it. Nothing too fancy but I want something stable and easy to get a bike in and out of. Something inexpensive too.

Bonus points for posting a link to a place to buy it.

Thanks.

In this age of carbon frames and aero seat posts, your best bet will NOT include a clamp-a-tube type head. That said, Park

has a collection of clamp-a-tube stands if your frame or seat post is a round tube.
They also have a model that has a quick release for the front fork, and the BB sits on.

PerformanceBicycle is typically cheaper…

Personally, I have a 10+ year old Park folding, travel stand with a clamp head. It will last forever.

this one is on the top of my list for a nice stand>>

.

I agree that anything that holds the frame via the fork and BB is the best way to go. I have the Park Tool Team Race Stand. It can also hold the bike via the front or rear dropouts.

I have a TTX which doesn’t lend itself well to top tube clamping not to mention the fear of damage. I went with the Park PRS-20 Team stand. Works great - solid and very easy to change out rear wheels for tire testing (:-). It’s heavy at ~ 20 lbs - no problem if it sits in the garage but if you plan to travel with it I’d consider the PRS-21 which weighs ~ 13 lbs - more expensive but I wish I would have gone that way. The Elite stand looks good as well - I didn’t see a weight listed however. Sometimes you can find a good deal using Froogle http://www.google.com/products.

Nate I have the Tacx Spider Team Workstand. Just take your front wheel off and mount on the stand.

Probikekit has them on sale:
