whats the best bike shop (or better, tri shop) around the Tampa/orlando/jacksonville area, pretty much the entire northern 2/3rds of the state (minus the panhandle)? Im getting a tri bike soon and was wondering who had the best selection, and most importantly, the most knowledge about fitting?

I second the motion for Florida Bicycle Sports in St. Petersburg, FL. Brian Cowan and Matt Moss, who both worked several years with John Cobb in Shreveport (and are triathletes and cyclists themselves!) They are very knowledgable and are also great guys who go out of their way to satisfy their customers. Go there and they’ll steer you toward the bike that’s right for you and set you up on it properly, too. (Ride several bikes without any high end pressure! If the bike don’t fit they won’t sell it to you either.)
Is that new? I lived in St. Pete until May 2003 and have never heard of it.
Florida Bicycle Sports came to St. Pete last year. I live on the East Coast of FL and drove over for a fitting on my road bike by Brian Cowan. Both Brian and Matt Moss are terrific! Their advice is top notch and the attention they give is unmatched. They are my bike gurus - heck, they’re so good, I’d travel to wherever they are!
