Did my first Half IM last weekend and I have decided that a road bike with crappy clip-on aerobars is not going to cut it any longer; I’d love to hear recommendations for tri-bikes in the $3,000 range. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think you could really go wrong with anything in that price range as long as it fits you properly.
Redlak is correct that fit is more important than the bike, but you could do far worse than the Van Dessel WR TT bike, Dura Ace with lots of other nice goodies and carbon bits for less than $3K. I love mine.
