I rented a Trico ironcase when I went to Germany to race 2 years ago. I’ve been thinking of buying one now. The Tri All 3 cases look like they are easier to pack. Any suggestions?
Hey Allan, my opinion based on the fact I’m a baggage handler, Trico. The safest for the bike, and ease at the other end, ie. automobile space. I also travelled for years with a soft shell and never had a problem. Yes you can load up the triall up to 70 lbs but trust me the bulk and weight it will get mishandled. Another option depending on frame size, dimandle the bike, including fork and put it into a goalie hockey bag and save up on the 70 bucks each way you get charged. If I was only 3 bike sizes smaller that’s what I’d be doing!!
Thanks for the info Tony. I rented one of these from Re-My when I went to Roth and they claimed it was the best but some other opinions are always useful.
ironcase, no question. the triall3 is nice but they break if dropped hard, and are sometimes a major pain to get into a car. You’ll also find you can fit more stuff with ease in the Trico. You can pile it in using the triall3 but it flies all over the place.
