I run to work or home from work on occasion and need a way to carry some stuff, - just a little more than a hip pack can hold. Does anybody carry stuff on their runs and which pack bounces the least?
i have a small pack, the kind they used to give out free at IMs. i put that on and then use a band that stretches and has a velcro clousre around the outside of the pack. this keeps it from bouncing. usually the shoulder straps are not even necessary. if feels a bit uncomfortable for breathing when i put it on but i don’t notice it once i start running.
I have a black diamond bullet pack. Super minimal and light.
How far are you running?
I have an Osprey Atmos 35 and it’s great. Mesh backpanel and mesh foam straps/hip belt allow for ventilation while running. The compression straps keep everything inside in place so there is minimal bouncing.

whatever you get make sure it has a strap/clip on the front which will clip the two shoulder straps together, this is the key to stop the bouncing.

It’s about 6.2 miles each way. I’ll check those packs out. Running to work is awesome if you can get all your stuff there.
GoLite Rush is excellent. Not sure how much volume you need, but it is like an “extended” waist pack and they are super inexpensive these days.
Although it was definitely made for the bike, I run to and from some of my swim workouts with an Ortlieb roll-top back pack. Doesn’t bounce at all and has a lot of padding on the back. I’ve never tried it in warmer weather though.
