With Armstrong and Hamilton currently in 1st and 4th places respectively, I was wondering if anybody knows what the best 1-2 overall finish for 2 Americans in the Tour was before this year?
My completely uneducated guess is Lemond and Hampsten.
Don’t know about Hampsten, where he finished but Armstrong 1st, Leipheimer 8th last year wasn’t bad
