Best Aero Brake Lever

I know, it’s probably the one that ‘fits me best’, but until the brake and reach database is compiled I thought I’d ask ST.

I’m asking because Cyclingnews just reviewed David Kemp’s Parlee and in the photo gallery they showed his brake levers.

Seen here: http://cyclingnews.com/photos/2009/tech/probikes/?id=/photos/2009/tech/probikes/david_kemp_flyv_parleeTT_09/Kemp_Parlee_TT_brake_levers

I hadn’t known about Tektro’s RL970 Brake levers and they appear to be pretty legit.

I’ve personally also liked Bontrager’s aero lever and Sram’s anodized red lever.

Also, please forgive me for viewing a Parlee photo gallery and focusing on the brake levers.

Is there a general consensus as to what lever is the best performing, most aesthetically pleasing, or best value?

They are brake levers…end of story. I cant tell my current SRAM carbon from my former cheap Dia Comp. If they have a return spring and dont have levers like the blades of knives…you are set. If you want performance from a brake lever on a tri bike you are really barking up the wrong tree. I have ridden them all and none have the same tactile feel of the Ergo/STI levers that the calipers were designed to work with. Then again, in tri you are not often in a pack trying to feather off a small bit of speed in a pack (unless your racing in Flordia). At the end of the day - get what looks good.

There are a lot of options.

Return Spring
No Return Spring
Internal run cables
External run cables
overall size for handle
Carbon
Aluminum

So what do you need and want.

Bontrager XXX lite aero, best I’ve ever used
