Best 650c wheelset for a clydesdale?

I am looking to pick up a set of 650c race wheels for my P2K. I weigh right at 200lbs and need something sturdy yet aero and fairly reasonable. That last sentence is filled with irony I am sure:) Can anyone recommend a decent set? I have some Velomax Vistas as training wheels and after only 20 miles of riding, the back wheel is out of true and I don’t recall hitting any holes. I was under the impression that 650c wheels are more durable than 700c wheels?

650s should be more durable, as they have a shorter spoke length.

Zipp makes some clydesdale-strength wheels.

i’m 225ish and have 2 races and 2 tune up rides on my 700c 404 Clydesdales. very happy with them.

Not sure if they come in 650c (I’ve never seen them) but give Zipp a call. You could just buy the hoops, get a set of King hubs, etc. and build your own 32 spoke version but good luck with the ‘reasonable’ part.
