Thoughts, feelings?
Typing his name makes him post. Some children say bloody mary in the mirror, slowtwitchers say ben greenfield in a post.
So he went a lot slower than usual when he didn’t train.
This is astounding.
I had more thoughts about the finish line video than his race performance.

Exactly- Ben is a 9:30ish Ironman guy and trained for multiple Ironmans, only thing this proves is not training right makes you slower…

I’m really sorry guys - did a scan of the first few pages, didn’t do a search. #cardinalslowtwitcherror
Please don’t kick me out - otherwise I will have to TALK TO PEOPLE IN THE REAL WORLD!
Serious question. Why do people not like this guy?
Serious question. Why do people not like this guy?
Because he’s a snake oil salesman and watch that finish line video. He acts like a total douche in it.

Look at the nonsense products he sells. I bet you would be pissed if I sold you a fancy bike and claimed it was the fastest most comfortable bike ever; then gave you a nonworking thing that looked like a bike but did nothing I promised. Thats unethical and illlegal and fuck anyone who does such a thing.
I think that a lot of the people in other posts are missing something very important…they keep saying that he did the race without training; which is not exactly accurate. His job IS training, and even with having that be his job, he did worse than most others who have jobs which are NOT training. I was even able to beat that time (not Hawaii…but Placid) ‘training’ an average of ~1h per week. Lets see him do a true MINIMALISTIC training season and then see what happens. I think that is the piece which is missing from most comments. The part about his poor behavior post race…well, that might just be an attention grab for the camera. It is possible that in real-life he does not have such a repulsive personality.

i dont think anyone on here would argue that he’s an ass, but if you’re going to say you went sub 1130 on 1 hour of training per week, you’re more full of shit than he is

I am going to say that; and no, Im not inaccurate in my statement (or as you so ineloquently put it ‘full of shit’)…I have the polar HRM files which show EXACTLY how much time was spent on a per week basis when averaged over the 12 months prior to a race. It comes out to an average workout time of 58 minutes and change per week. This year was a little less, and I was still able to clock a 4:30:17 at a half (albeit a relatively flat one in the northeast). It might help to speculate rather than accuse when you do not possess facts to base an opinion. With this in mind, I dont know if he is an ass, but the data would certainly indicate that his performance does not match up to the boastful claims (i.e. results with minimal training).

Apparently you like long odds…
acting like a complete tool.
If I was Timex, I would be embarrassed that I gave him a slot. I listened to a Bob Babbitt interview with Tim Hola last week. That is a good representative for your company. Not someone who boasts how little they effort they put into preparing for the race, and to make matters worse, belittles the time spent by EVERYONE else.

Who is he?
How do you see the finish line video?

Someone who really doesn’t matter.

my kids dont go to school in the summer for about 3 months. at the end of the 1st month back at school, their professor gives them a test and my son gets an ‘A’. he then tells his friends, he only studied 5 minutes per day. remarkable huh?
he actually studied a lot more than that in the weeks leading into the test, but avg’d in the 3 months over the summer, into that 5min avg, when he actually did no studying at all.
so you still going to hold on to that bullshit story that you *only trained an hour a week? *like i said, you’re full of shit.
His claim is an hour a week, not a day.
ST clones bashing a guy for selling snake oil and hyperbole in regards to training volume…now that is classic!
