Bell Commercial on OLN

Anyone see the Bell commercial on OLN during the Giro about a minute ago?

Hilarious. When they show the guy changing the tire I spit out my cereal on my laptop. Then the test dummy going into the wall. It’s the first funny cycling commercial I think I’ve ever seen.

That was good. I got it on tape.

I like the guy in the all 80’s gear w/ the Chuck Taylor’s getting bounced out of the saddle. But when the guy rips the VO2 tube out of his mouth that is the best!

The only thing I have to question is: Is Bell really trying to sell that seat???

The commercial is good though!

Very funny commercial. Three quesions though from a marketing standpoint, did this commerical want to make you go out and buy the products that they were selling, did you laugh about the commercial and forget it later, did you own any Bell product or would you ever purchase a Bell product? I doubt I ever did or ever will own any Bell product. the quetions here is why are they even advertising on OLN when the people who watch it are serious cyclists not joe schmo. I don’t think anyone who watchs OLN would ever buy Bell, it would be more like Cervelo, or Merlin, or Pearl Izumi…Just a thought

I used a Bell helmet for many years and liked them alot. I think their helmets are of great quality. My new helmet is a Giro cuz I got a great deal on it. I most certainly would buy another Bell product in the future.

The tire stuff and seat I would probably never use but we’re not the only people watching the race. I would think there are several million people out there that would love to get on the bike and have less hassles with tires and that skinny little seat. The more people on bikes, the better, IMO.

I lost it when the scientist says “180,190,195… this guy’s going to kill himself” and then the guy throws the wheel… tremendous

I’m sure everyone thought of a friend when they saw the dummy run into the wall… know of one guy who came to mind there… I can’t wait to see it again to take it all in

I believe bell and giro or the same company now

You are correct.

That line is classic. I mean serisouly, how many times have you gotten your heart rate over 195, so many times, espcially climbing mountains. Dang! I enjy thge commercial but don’t see it as a seller from a marketing standpoint that’s all.

Anyone have a link to it?

It would only have been funnier if it could have had some bleeped out words… I know I’m not very polite when I’ve flatted… Will it sell more Bell stuff, who knows, most commercials don’t really work IMO. Everyone uses the remote or TIVO to pass them up. I just happened to see it b/c I was on the net and didn’t change the channel.

It has created a commercial worth talking about, which is very rare these days. And people have talked and read about Bell when they probably never would have before. So I’d say it’s a successful commercial.
