Belgians are nuts!

next sunday, Tour of Flanders. Check this site, it’s in french, but there is a description of the Mur de Grammont.

This is one great reason to try and ride in Europe. Riding is pretty flat and boring around here. The roads rarely curve and trees are few and roads like Europe may not be as striking for you as it was for me. Seems every back road had another gem just around the corner. Whether it be a church, castle or whatever architecture that trips your trigger, or just the scenery, the riding was unbelievable.

dude, now that I live in Texas, when I get back to France, I love these curvy roads etc…

I thought they were waffles!

I thought they were waffles!
Actually, Belgians are beers that will knock you on yer @ss!!! Big strong beers in big strong bottles, with this “stuff” sinking to the bottom.

Francois…do they just use their 42/21 gear for this 20% monster or do they go with something like a 39x23. Is the Mur Grammot, not part of the Het Volk race too ?

Every pro rider uses a 39 in the tour of flanders. Actually the one francois talks about isn’t so bad after all. it’s about 30k from my home and I’ve climb it hundreds of times. The hill after the one in geraardsbergen (grammont) is " de bosberg" and that’s the last one, after 250k, also cobblestones. The big hitters storm that one on their 53 !! last year Vandenbroecke try to shake Van Peteghem sprinting on his 53x17 . I would love to see that SRM-powerexplosion

I was surprised not to see a post from you Wim, with such a title
