Bekele running strong..!

He’s 1 k from the finish line… after 9 k 3 sec. under his own WR pace

He ran the last lap in 57,09 that gives a time of 26.17.59! NEW WR!!! Last k in 2.32…! THAT’s FREAKING FAST

Let me be the first to congtatu…errrrr accuse him of being on EPO!

I think he skipped a lap.

" I think he skipped a lap."

Very Funny.

Where are you finding the results at?

That’s a reasonable time for a person on a bicycle. Not like a time-trialist or anything, but that’s more than decent for a regular recreational cyclist… Amazing… And he is only 22 (? maybe off a year or two), so by all logic (and this race) he hasn’t even peaked… AMAZING!!!

I think they said 23… There were a total unknown 18 year old guy (can’t remember name or nation, but from some african country) he went with Bekele for the first 7 k I think, he made a PB with over a minute… Didn’t got the time for him…

The results I don’t know… I saw it live on TV…

You are reffering to Samuel Wanjiru. Hes not exactly an unknown having run 59:43 for the half marathon earlier this year (4 or 5 fastest all time).

Okay… I didn’t know… The danish commentators didnøt knew him…! But 18 years old, and running only 24 sec over WR… Maybe in 5 years or so they will need a sub 26 for a WR…! I saw an interview with Bekele I think from Athens… Where he mentions that he trains for a sub 26…! 4.11 a mile…! Damn thats fast

That must feel pretty incredible to run that fast for that long.

Didn’t mean to be a dick, just wanted to let people know a little bit more about an amazing runner (not just a flash in the pan). He is a relative unknown as he has been training and racing in Japan on a corporate team rather than in Kenya for national teams. Certainly he will be one to watch and may be the only person capable of challenging Kenessisa in the next few years.
