Begg Pool in Manhattan Beach (LA)

Anyone ever swim at Begg Pool (in Polliwog Park)? I am heading to LA for a wedding next week, would like to swim while I am there. This pool is within a few miles of my hotel…

Is it a decent place, or should I keep looking?

I’ve never been but I hear it’s a place to take kids, not to swim laps.

El Segundo plunge might work for you. It’s also warm enough for ocean swimming but bring a wetsuit if you’re a wuss.

I am in LA a couple times a month and stay near LAX on Century Blvd. The Plunge in El Segundo is the place to be. Lap swims are at 11am-1pm on MWF and 7-9PM on MW. There is a masters program @ 5:30 AM. Lap swim admission is a ridiculously low $3 for non residents.

Thanks guys. The website for Begg indicates that they have lap swimming in the mornings. But I think a noon-ish swim will work better for me (probably going out on Thursday night).
