I was thinking of riding up to Bear Mountain before. I don’t really feel like making it a round trip. I’d rather ride up there, cruise around a little rather than slogging back across 9W and dealing with traffic, etc. I think there are a couple Metro North stations nearby. Not sure which ones are the most accessible. Any help would be appreciated.
You can cross the Bear Mountain bridge and take route 9 north to Coldspring. Jump on a metro north train back down to the NYC
Peekskill train station isn’t to far, it may be closer than Coldspring.
Peekskill is definitely closer then cold spring (bonus is that there is a fantastic brewpub right next to the station).
If you are going to ride into Herriman then you also have the options of Sloatsburg or Tuxedo.

Yeah the brewpub would make it a good choice, there’s also a good Italian bakery there. Some black and white cookies would make a nice recovery snack!
