i’m trying to book a room for beach to battleship. i’m doing the half with a friend. both of our wives will be watching/shopping/sitting on the beach. i think we’d prefer to stay closer to the start. we’re only looking to stay friday night in wilmington. our friends live about an hour away from wilmington so we’ll head back there post-race.
i guess just looking a place to that’s close to the start and easy to get to the start and for the girls to get to t2. i’ve looked at the hotels on the b2b site. just wondered what others think. thanks.

If you mean easy to get to the start and easy to get to T2, then…depending on your definition of easy, these two criteria are mutually exclusive.
It’s not downtown, but I’ll put my plug in for Holiday Inn Sunspree on the beach. Very close to T1 & the swim start with a shuttle (no waking the family = big bonus points), great beach, nice rooms, etc. etc. Both years, the family has shown up downtown about the time I start the run, watched the run from downtown and headed over to battleship park for the finish. The kids were disappointed not to go back this year, but I’m pretty sure they’ll like IM Cozumel better! I’ll definitely be back to B2B again, though.
The Blockade Runner is the closest hotel to the start. It is on the ocean, not quite as nice as the Sunspree, but it is fine.
