yeah…do the full. I can’t speak for the half as I did the full, but top notch everything as far as I am concerned

good race - great for PRs. Swim is wicked fast with the current. Bike is flat with the exception of two bridges - a bit boring since a lot was on major highway. Run has 3 bridges and one little steep bit coming from the shore to the main street level - otherwise flat. Temps were great for racing last year. Aid/support was excellent. The logisitics for a point to point were great - everything was where it was supposed to be on time. Front St. Brewery is a two block walk from the water taxi for after the race recovery drinks.

Nipicks/things to know - I like a good warmup for the swim. The half has very little space for this - you are leaving between boat docks, and don’t want to get into the channel with the full folks. For me, just means my first 500 is slower than race normal.

They need to fix the coverings over the drawbridges - last year the second one was a bit hairy.

I didn’t stay at the race center last year - I gather shuttle buses were a bit limited - they are supposed to fix this year. Not an issue for me - wife/sherpa drove me down in the AM to T1 - just as easy as being on the bus shuttles.

Bring a good flashlight for T1 in the morning - lighting was terrible for those of us in the half - all the big lights were back in the full section, and you couldn’t see anything.

They are adding bus shuttles as well as water taxis to leave the event this year - this should alleviate some of the congestion last year when there were only the water taxis to get back.
