Has anyone had success using branch chain amino acid pills as a way to quell hunger, or seen any studies on this topic?
My wife swears by them. Each day when she gets home she is very hungry from training and not eating much, and she takes a few BCAA pills to keep herself from pigging out before dinner, saying that she doesn’t feel hungry afterward. I’m willing to give it a try, but would like some more info. if it’s available. I tried The Google, but didn’t come up with anything good.
Sounds dangerous to me. After TRAINING - she’s hungry? Then she takes protein pills instead of eating? Sounds like it would slow recovery - affect perfromance the next day and sounds downright unhealthy.
If you get the munchies after training - eat snacks just before training (like fruit) - eat while training - and eat a snack after training. That should take care of it.
Eat whole natural foods - avoid pills and powders.
