My bad- someone else also posted a similar topic. Let it slide off the page…
No it’s all good. That article goes more in depth.
Wonder if anything has been lost in translation since A.C. doesn’t speak English? Looks like 2010 good get very exciting.
Bla bla bla ,big ring drama most of them are all a bunch of bitches, the only thing they have going for them is their athletic abilities, take away their bikes and this is hollywood.
Contador admitted relations between the two were strained throughout.
“The situation was tense and delicate because the relationship between myself and Lance extended to the rest of the staff,” he said.
“On this Tour, the days in the hotel were harder than the those on the road.”
above from the article.
I agree that some of the talk is a bit like Hollywood or it is a ‘Hollywood’.
I don’t believe contador could have ridden so well if he really had as much stress at the hotel as he is implying.

I believe Contador actually does speak English since interview questions are frequently asked in English and he seems to respond. He may be wise to answer through an interpreter though since the chance for mis-speaking himself is reduced. Also, when a fellow wrestles wth another language they appear less articulate. Al Contador speaking through an interpretor makes him seem more articulate and reduces the error for an embarrassing slip of the tongue in a highly charged situation.
This is what I had posted in another thread:
Before I judge it too harshly, I’d like to make certain that the translation is good.
Here’s the original Spanish:

Over at cyclingnews.com forums, someone translated it as:
My relationship with Armstrong is none-but independent from his personality, he’s a great champion, has won 7 tours and done a great job in this one, but on a personal level(referring to his personality) I haven’t had a great admiration towards his, and never will, but again-as a rider-he’s a great champion.
The image from that article is priceless:

Translation of the translation: “No, you’re a dick.”
Says what words cannot- or at least have not yet.

Game ON 2010. I think it’s highly possible that come May-June 2010, TDF hits the mainstream media even more than the last year of Lance Part I. If everyone stays healthy (and if neither party is the “victim” of a positive test announced somewhere down the line…), the story line could be very compelling.
GREAT pic. Thanks for posting.
AC’s joking with the logo on that hat, right? Douche.
Why, you have something against guns?
Also note how he covers up the Astana Logo on the Yellow!
English is the language that Contador and Kloden communciate in, so it’s not that he CAN’T communicate in English he just choses not to. Mind you having seen the interaction at the tour between them…
I’m not surprised at his comments, you have a clash of two super egos there.
