I am planning on a bike trip from Livermore, Ca to the Tenaya lodge Thursday morning (tomorrow) for a buddies 40th birthday. The planned trip was going to be, Patterson pass to schulte rd. Left on Corral Hollow to S Tracy. S tacy to Howard rd. Howard Road to French camp road. French Camp road to hwy 120. We would then take 120 to to 41 and down to Fish camp.
Looking at google maps it is hard to tell what the merge between 120, 140 and 41 is really like. Do we have to go all the way to the park gate and back out? Would we be better off coming up 41?
Does anybody have a better way to go? We will have our families driving out later in the day so if we bonk or the route is too unsafe for any reason we can just find some dive bar and drink beer until our ride arrives.
We made it 125 to Maraposa from Livermore. The families were passing us and the prospect of beer and food by the pool beat out the desire to go the last 40 miles of up hill to Fish Camp. It was an awesome day and we found a great route. I will make it the whole way some time but I will find a day that is colder than 100F and more than 12 days after an IM. My legs did not like me much after mile 80.

Just in case you ever feel like doing the same ride some time here is the route we took.
Tesla, Corral Hollow Rd, W Linne Rd, S Airport Way, Kasson Rd, River Road, Keys Rd (J16), Lunch and water Stop in Snelling, Continue on J16 that is now Merced Falls Road, Right turn over bridge on Hornitos Rd (still J16), Left turn on Old Toll Road to 49, 49 to Mariposa.
49 hits 41 and 41 goes all the way to the South Gate of Yosemite but we never got that far.
