Great episode last night, I’m glad they finally got rid of Zarek and Gaeta. Now what do you do with the other mutineers? And how does the return of Ellen affect the mix? Was Baltar fooling around with an Ellen? Did Gaeta and Baltar have a thing together, is that why Baltar cared if Gaeta was executed?
Incredible episode last night! They really are being ruthless with killing people off. Good for them. That to me is what makes a great show, following the story arc and not taking the easy way out. The execution of the council was really shocking. I couldn’t believe they did it.
I am very suprised by Ellen. The show is really picking up. I wonder of Saul knew the whole time about her and that is why he was able to kill her. I wonder if they will let the Prez die from her cancer by the end of the show or will they let her live to see their new home. I’m glad they whacked the VP. Really creepy guy. Baltar needs some kind of resolution as well. We really haven’t heard from him in a while. What is going on in his head?
And the council execution was preceded by the great line – “I think you should leave now… Mr. Vice President.” I think that made the “shoot them” response a little more surprising, since it seemed for a second like he didn’t have power.
I don’t think Saul knew, or he wouldn’t have been so fracked up after doing it.
And I like the lawyer, though I’m not sure they’ll find a reason for him to return.
Yes, great episode last night. The Quorum execution was shocking, they were really annoying, but finally they had stopped supporting Zarek .
And I didn’t get the whole “I do know who you are Felix”, what was that about. And what does Gaeta’s itch have to do with everything? It stopped a moment before his execution.
I’m looking forward to see what their going to do with the rest of mutineers, specially Narcho and Racetrack.
I really liked the bits where the Admiral is marching towards the CIC with a few marines, then next scene with some more people, then next scene with a lot of people.

I have heard that people with phantom pain after an amputation feel it more intensly when they are under stress. So maybe Gaeta stopped feeling it when he came to peace with himself just before his execution.

I don’t think Saul knew even after he was “activated” . Remember when they were on “earth” and he walked into the water and he remembered his and Ellen’s previous life 2000 years ago !!!

When on Earth they were envisioning previous incarnations of themselves, right? So then how long have Odama and crew been floating around looking for Earth? Why didn’t they know it was destroyed? I’m confused. Great show but I’m still confused.

Short brush, its been 4 years since the 12 colonies were nuked by the Cylons (but remember this has happened before) so is been cyclical in nature. The final 5 are fundamentally different than the other 7 Cylons and are the progenitors of the other 7. The earth that was nuked was 2000 years ago. I would suggest renting the DVD’s for the back story !
2000 years ago all humanity lived in a planet called Kobol, there were 12 tribes. For some reason, they had to leave Kobol and find new homes. So they found the 12 Colonies (12 planets somewhere). Then, 40ish years ago they create the Cylons, the metallic-robotic ones. The cylons rebelled, there is a war, yadda yadda, cylons leave. Then, in the miniseries, cylons come back, we found that they have “evolved” and look like humans. Destroyed the 12 colonies, Gallactica survives.
Then, where to go?, they need a new home. So it turns out that there is a legend, narrated in the “book of pithia” that tells the story of a 13th tribe that left Kobol 1000 years before the other 12 and setled on the 13th colony, Earth. So they try to find it.
Now, Tigh and the rest discover they are the final 5 cylons, but we all thought they were from the same “production line”, so to speak as the other 7. But no, they where actually inhabitans of the planet Earth, the one they found destroyed. And also they find out that all the inhabitants of that planet were cylons. So some how the 13th tribe was a tribe of cylons. Cylons created before the ones created 40 years ago (Remember “all this has happened befor and will happen again”).
How many times the final 5 have re-incarnated or how and why they ended up on the 12 Colonies we don’t know yet and I hope they explain it soon.
Gallactica have been around lookin for Earth for like 4 and a half years.

As you said, how were the final five brought back to life on the Colonies 2000 years after they died in a war? Additionally, why were they the only ones apparently brought back? What is their relationship with the current Cylons? What precipitated the war that destroyed “Earth”? It appeared to be a war between skinjobs and metal Cylons, why?

I think their bond goes back to New Caprica, Gaeta was Baltar’s Chief of Staff or similar during Baltar’s “presidency” under Cylon rule of New Caprica. They became friends then, and of course Gaeta was the one feeding the resistance info.
I too am glad they didn’t drag this mutiny storyline on any longer. Was glad to see Adama and Roslin back in charge.
