New starting town. New route. Who’s in?
Registration was easy this year. First year racing as a cat 4 40+. Finished 7th the last 2 years as a cat 5. Excited about the new route though. But I think I am going to get my @ss kicked this time.
How can you not enter a race with the word “kill” in it. K I L L - it makes the race sound so ominous.

Though I know you were kind of kidding,Kill is, I believe a Dutch word for river. Hence, in upstate New York, we have Peekskill, Fishkill, Battenkill, etc.

The actor, Kill Phoenix. The Irish dancers, Kill Dance. I could go on.
But I am registering for Battenkill. That’s a fun race. Hope the weather is sucky.
I’m doing the preview ride, I’m out of town on race day. Liking the later dates. Logistics sound better too
Waitlisted – Cat 4 40+ already filled … anybody know if they typically run a 2nd field, or do I have to hope somebody drops out?

Isnt sucky weather guaranteed?
Easy to enter because a lot are protesting. Took away prize money and increased the price to $95, doesn’t quite make sense. Personally not worth it for that price.

I am in; Cat4 open. First time for me. Did the Tour of the Catskills earlier this year which is run by the same organization.
Where is everyone staying since the start is in Greenwich now? Saratoga Springs?

Yep, they lost me with the changes after three straight years.

I’m always intrigued by these sorts of races. what’s the difference tween the race and the fondo? for a first time visitor, may i assume the fondo will deliver all the flavor?

It appears they added a cat 4 field.
Did Tim’s wife’s sportive with him and Ted in October. It was mostly gravel and hugely impressive to watch Tim’s bike handling skills in those conditions (at least what I could see from way behind). Highly recommend it.
