I never knew this condition exists among cyclists. All the more reason to listen to your body and have things checked out.
How many of us have seen posts about numbness?

Very sad to hear.
Wow, that’s crazy…how sad. Only 28.
Especially sad because he apparently left the hospital early because of financial concerns.
I was really shocked to hear this - he was one of our (South Africa’s) best riders.
On the financial side, with the Rand at almost 10 to the Euro, I can see how he couldn’t afford a French hospital (if this is true)
"Cox, with financial assistance from Barloworld teammate Robbie Hunter, underwent surgery in early July. "
Don’t Pro Tour teams give their riders health insurance?
Something is really f’d up about all of this.
Our local paper’s report today said that pro riders have no medical aid / insurance - not sure if they meant our local teams only or the international teams. barloworld are a South African team but are based / registered in Britain.
In lanc armstrong war (book) it says, lloyds of london is the only insurance company in the world that will insure pro bike racers. All the same, that suck to hear he died, I remember when Velo News did their first piece on him. sad.
