Bar end shifters - vibrations

I have Shimano Dura Ace bar end shifters on my C2 bars and one shifter is vibrating and driving me crazy!

I searched the forum and found this:
For Sale: Shimano Dura Ace 10 Speed Bar End Shifters. They come with the anti-vibration “ring” washers installed

Where does the anti-vibration ring washer go and where do I get one?

I had the same issue with mine. It’s a known Shimano problem. I took mine back to my LBS and they got the necessary part and fixed the problem for me.

Noticed the same thing this weekend on my 10 spd DA shifters. They shut up as soon as you grab them. In my case, it appears to be the shifter for the R/D.

I have a similar issue, but my Dia Comp 188 levels rattle also - so taken together a complete cacophony.

I hope someone will propose some good solution.

It is my R/D as well. Just got back from a ride and I wrapped it (just twice around) with electrical tape. Stopped the vibration, but is just a very temporary fix. Towards the end of the ride the e-tape was sliding off from the gear shifting.

I may check with LBS.

Same problem here with my Dura-Ace rear shifter. I kinda use it as a reminder to stay low and aero. As soon as I take my hand off my shifter and get a little higher the rattle starts and forces me down. :slight_smile:

Seriously though…it is annoying and I have often wondered the same thing. I am a pretty good wrench and have looked it over but can’t think of a good solution.
