Bar end shifter compatibility

Are Dura-Ace bar end sifters compatible with SRAM derailleurs? I am building a new tri bike and based on parts I have and potentially need to buy I am wondering if I can mix?

Thanks.

No.

*edited to add that the shifter for the front ring will work with any derailleur. You can use Shimano shifters for SRAM rear derailleur only if it’s in friction mode (e.g. no clicks).

No. The two brands have different pull ratios. Fronts will work to an extent in friction mode, but rears simply will not.

OK and Thanks. Appreciate the help.

I think you will actually enjoy the friction mode if you go that route for the r.d. as every gear is perfectly in trim no matter what . Sometimes we all get lazy and don’t use the barrel adjuster and just live with it, but the friction mode is all we had in the old fart days and I never ‘upgraded’ to index. Give it a shot!

Give it a shot!Even in friction mode it does not work fully. I tried earlier this year with DA 7800 bar-ends and a Force RD and though the friction shifting does work the levers do not pull enough cable to shift over the full 10 gears. I was wither able to get the first 9 or last 9 but not all 10.

That’s odd…I have been running DA levers with a Rival r/d on a 105 cassette for ~ 2 years in friction mode.
