Badwater Webcast

Runner #83 is my Uncle, John and we’re quite proud of him this morning! We think he’s a little loco for doing this race though 
He is one of only 2 canadians in the race.

My wife gets the Furnace Creek Inn newsletter. (They’re offering discounted room rates right now, BTW.) Daytime temperature is hitting 129 deg F. I checked the current weather at 9:00 PM the other night - 106.
Friend and PBN Team Member (Blake Benke) is also out there *‘racing’ *for the 1st time. They’re through the 1st checkpoint (17 miles) and he came through in 4th (just behind Goggins - Ultraman runnerup)…obviously still WAY early, but good representation from the triathletes.
Blake has a 9:2x IM PB w/ a sub-3hr run split and at least a 1/2 dozen ultras under his belt - very interested to see how this plays out for him.
Talk about a bad time for another minor heat wave.
