Bad News for the new years :-(

So a friend of mine called today - she found out today that she has ovarian cancer. She is just 30…for once in my life I was speachless…I mean - what could I say? (No this is not Tracy)

that sucks :frowning:
.

Support her on her journey. I hope all goes well. I had the same response on Christmas Eve when my Dad called and told me that my brother (40 yrs old) had experienced a major stroke. He is recovering, but has a long challenging road ahead also… He can’t speak and has limited movement on his right side… I was with him today while the physiotherapists helped him take his first steps. Difficult to watch…

What stage? Ovarian cancer often goes undetected until its late stage, which sucks. My best friend has successfully fought it off twice now (we are 34). I hope your friend is as lucky.

Chip,

Sorry to hear about your friend. Be strong for her, and be THERE for her as best you can. Stay positive and hopefully it will rub off on her. Best of luck.

Bernie

I am so sorry to hear your news. My friend has recently gone through an Ovarian cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemo and radiation. It was stage 3 when they found it. She is doing better but it is a horrible process. She is older, it is even more devastating for someone as young as your friend.

I had another friend with a life threatening illness. It didn’t matter how out of the way or how tired I was I made the trek to her hospital room as often as I could. She still comments how much it means to her that her friends were there even when she was so sick she could only lay in bed and moan.

Do whatever you can to support your friend then do a little more. She will remember it always.

Stage 2TC? is what she said…but when I google that I cant make sense of the “T”.

I think its the number that is important. 4 is bad. 2 is better.

are you sure tc is not referred to the treatment in this case (paclitaxel/carboplatin)?

yes, but c in general is much worse than a (in 2c for example they found cancer cells in the abdomen as well, not so in a)

I have no idea, she was a wreck when she called. She may stop by later…she is trying to figure out how to tell her mom and kids. Poor thing.

I bet :frowning: this really sucks, hope she manages to pull through!

Wow.

That is a speachless bit of news. At the ripe old age of 30. Damn.

Sorry to hear that.

Terrible news. Sorry. Just listen to her. Don’t try to “fix” anything. Just listen.
