We are going to put in a pool at our house. Does anyone train in their own pool? If so, what is the length of your pool? Does anyone have experience with the Fastlane which you can use to turn a bakyard pool into an endless pool? Pros/cons?
i can do all of two strokes in my pool, which is pretty good size for a residentila pool. i say forget training in it it and stick to making your kids dive for pennies.
Without being too rude:
There is a little gizmo on Slowtwitch: It is in the yellow bar on top of the website: “Search posts”.
I bet you will come up with some of the answers you are looking for!
I would say that all those current-generators do not give you the same “feel” in the water as a regular sized pool. They also will make it cumbersome to swim at different speeds (you have to adjust the current constantly for a more complex swimset). But if you have no decent pool in your area, it is better than not swimming at all.
I sold my Fastlane before I moved out West, but I also have the luxury of 25 yard pools within 5 minutes from my home and workplace.
FWIW, Good luck!
Discliamer: I work for Fastlane by Endless Pools
Fastlane by Endless Pools DOES create a realistic swim experience in your small backyard pool. 8500 Endless Pools clients (Including Slowman and Terry Laughlin of Total Immersion) would concur.
My suggestion to you would be to try one. Where are you located?
