You want to boycott us, then start saving duracell batteries. Funny.

Dang, beat me to it…

I think its great…when do we get to shut CA’s water supply off?

Sweet. I love it. I really think it would be great if Arizona utilities went through with it.

hey, no griping about LA thirst when you are in Oklahoma! We hear in Northern California reserve that right

Dude, don’t overplay this.

CA will simply turn on their green energy grid and the fucking state will be lit up like a Christmas tree!

Uh…wait…scratch that, better buy some candles beeotches!!

But its only fair, isn’t it?

Ya’ll have rain, they don’t. Its for the common good.

too much rain this year. Here it is mid-May and they are still predicting light rain for tonight. By now, it’s supposed to be hot, sunny and dry.

With this type of weather, the dust bowl that the farmers along I-5 are predicting will never happen!

What I don’t get is that so much of the central valley water gets diverted to LA. One place uses it to grow food, the other purely for consumption. That, I don’t get.

That’s a whole other thread my friend.

green energy? Man, are you crazy? Those wind turbines are killing the birds…THEY ARE KILLING THE BIRDS!

Seriously, it’s a matter of time before they outlaw oil, coal and green energy.

Dude, those California Condors will see their numbers go back up, what’s the big deal if a couple of females get decapitated now and again–it’s all for the greater good brother.

LA offers a response:

"Mayor Villaraigosa is in Washington D.C., meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, but his deputy chief of staff issued the following statement: “The mayor stands strongly behind the city council and he will not respond to threats from the state that has isolated itself from an America that values freedom, liberty and basic civil rights.”

So you want to boycott AZ, well, then stop buying our electricity bitches.

Of course, Villaraigosa’s response is classic and all too predictable, he doesn’t have the balls to pull the plug–typical liberal douchetard spouting off at the mouth, talking shit, and then when the rubber is about to meet the road, he goes back into his spider-hole.

Sort of reminds me of the recent MA water thread where the tough greenpeace loving, save our earth, ban plastic water bottles, I’m better than you because I drive a Prius progressives were seen fighting off each other with sticks to buy cases of Poland Springs–oh the irony!

Now this idiot has a golden opportunity to put some real teeth into his veiled threat, yet, we know he is really just a pussy.

Please, oh please AZ call his bluff.

Oh wait, I live in CA.

I find it hillarious that they are not going to respond to “threats” from Arizona.

Can it be a threat when someone’s wishes are about to be be fulfilled?

It’s not much of a threat if they can’t follow through with it.

How is the Arizona Corporate Commission going to tell utilities located in the state that they cannot do business with one of their largest customers?

And it’s my understanding that LA may have some ownership interests in some of these utilities.

It’s a hollow threat, but it makes for good politics in a “rally the troops” way.

This is political jousting for certain, and if anything shows how patently ridiculous this entire situation has become.

AZ has already seen a negative impact from this though based on what I have read.

reports here in SD that the Zoners are boycotting SD…hotels are complaing. Coronado Island is reminding the Zoners that call, “WE ARE NOT SAN DIEGO”!

Thats cool for me, less dorks getting in my way while surfing!

What a bunch of idiots. It’s not a threat, you dumbass council members, it’s an OFFER. The LA City Council instructed staff to determine which contracts with AZ it could get out from under. Fine! AZ is offering to cancel the power contracts. Since both parties are in agreement . . .

'course I am not serviced by DWP so I am all for it.

The biggest effect I see happening in Arizona was on the news last week. They interviewed several families in which one or more were illegal and they were all headed back to Mexico.

… Fine! AZ is offering to cancel the power contracts…

Los Angeles owns most of its power plants that supply its electricity. Los Angeles did this when Arizona was still a hick town. And they own the transmission lines also. You would be suprised how many states supply electricity to Los Angeles and how far it travels (as far away as Oregon). The same with water.

The Los Angeles metro area has three times the population of Arizona. Most of Arizona’s goods comes through the port of Los Angeles. Arizona would not have a chance.

I was arguing with some libs on another forum the other day about the whole LA Boycott AZ thing and they are all 'Yeah let’s boycott Arizona!!" I asked what are they going to boycott? The answer, exclusively was “travel and tourism.” I pointed out that the vast majority of AZ hotel/hospitality workers are latin american immigrants/hispanic heritage so why would LA democrats want to initentionally do something that will hurt he people thay say they support?

Crickets…

This is the perfect example of democrat/liberal stupidity: It might feel good to assuage cosmoplitan, elitist liberal guilt, but in reality the behavior is counterintuitive and destructive to the people they say they ‘support.’

Hey libs, how about proceeding with the boycott and sending green cash money to all those folks who will be losing their jobs?

Crickets…

Villiragosa and the LA City council need the distraction, the city is on the verge of bankfuptcy. Also, the purpose of his trip to DC was not to meet with the Mexican Pres. It was to beg for $$ from the feds so LA can postpone it’s inevitible bankruptcy. If he does not get it, hold on to your wallets LA people because Uncle Tony is getting ready to hijack your shit.
