Availability of Felt B2

If I go to my LBS, who doesn’t carry Felt, and order a B2, is it possible to get the bike in a reasonable amount of time (2-4 weeks)? Thanks!

When I ordered my DA 700, it took about 6 weeks to get to me, but that was during a production cycle. I don’t know if they have times where they have unspoken for frames available. I think SuperDave is a Felt rep, who may be able to help you if he responds to this.

SuperDave may have more specific info, but this has been our expereinces:

All B2’s for 2004 are sold out. Now, that is like front row seats at a Britney Spears concert- you may still be able to get one.

We have a couple B2’s available for open sale due to customers who couldn’t wait any longer and wound up on something else. These were people who bought B2’s back in September 2003 and hadn’t received them as of a month ago.

That said, the B2 delivery did happen- to Felt’s credit, and the bike is nice if it and all its components fit you properly. I heard SuperDave mention a second production cycle in June/July but that will likely be an “'05” version since Felt has already released an '05 bike, the new F65 road bike.

B2’s are tough to get, but there are exceptions. If you have your heart set on one buy it, then just forget about it until you get the call. It could be a week, a month or seven months- it is difficult for anyone to predict at this point.

Short answer, not likely. Are you looking for the complete bike or just the frameset? The complete bike is much harder to come by, if not impossible. Framesets, well, those may be all be accounted for also. I would suggest you call Felt directly and see what they have left. I spoke with them a few times when I was trying to nail down availability of the frameset last month. At the end of Feb they were out of stock in most sizes. I was told they were expecting their next shipment in mid-March, and that I would need to put a deposit down at my dealer to reserve one. I couldn’t wait that long though, and luckily I ended up finding a dealer with one frameset on their floor that didn’t have anyone’s name on it. Good luck!

If your LBS doesn’t carry Felt, there is no chance that you’ll get one. Felt does not sell their bikes to any dealers that want them. There is an application process. Check out the www.feltracing.com website and start calling dealers closeby. Drop me a note if you get stuck. Felt has some B2 framesets ready to ship.

Where are you located?

Dave,

whats the availability of S22s? Craig at Nytro is offering S22 with Spinergy Tilium SS wheel upgrades as an alternative. I think he has it worked out so that the price of the package is still more than $1000 less than a full blown B2.

Hi SuperDave,

I’m located in PA. I have a call into Felt. They are checking to see if any shops in PA have the B2 in my size.

Thanks!

As usual Craig’s alternative is a good one. The Tillium is a fine wheel, I am riding a set right now on my P3.

I just ordered the Felt B2 frame. I am going to be building this up with a combo of Dura Ace and Ultegra components. I was considering both the B2 or the DA but just could not justify the extra $600 bucks or so. I did not think it was going to be that much faster and I am planning on ordering some one piece aerobars with that money. Thanks for the information on the frames. I am really looking forward to getting this built up.

Craig

What size do you need? How far are you willing to drive to get one?
