Austin Rides

Hello,
I’ll be in Austin Sunday through Tuesday. I’m looking for some 3-4 hour rides and maybe even some people to ride with.

On mapmyride I found the ATC Saturday long ride and it seems like a nice loop. Anyone have any other recommended routes? I’m surprised to see only one route in the ST Training log!

can’t beat the saturday ATC ride, whether you are a beginner or a national champ (literally), you will find a group to push you.

Sunday has a few options, the progress ride (progress coffee shop) or the Jack and adams Tri shop ride (leaves @ 8:30).

There are some RR going on the next few weekends so the groups may be a little thinner on the front end, but they always happen.

That’s great, I’ll be staying very close to Progress. Can you give me some more info on that one?

The Sunday Jack and Adams ride is a great one. 2-3 hour ride with varying levels of riders. Usually Jack and Drew bring out breakfast tacos and coffee after. Might be 10, might be 30 riders that show up. Ride heads east and is evenly tempo. The ATC loop is a fun ride and lets you enjoy some of Austin’s hills. Shops are very friendly here so poke in and enjoy the town.

you can call the shop to see when the start time is, i don’t know anymore.

It was started as a recovery ride from what i remember, and it starts that way for about an hour, but it does pick up. Its not the bataan death march like ATC, but its brisk at times. They stop once half way at a gas station. Total ride time is around 3hrs i think.
