What are the chances the Austin Marathon, sponsored by Livestrong, will pull its USATF sanctioning so that He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named can run in it?
Zero. I think livestrong would come across more negatively if they did it and the race would be the laughing stock of the running community, most notably among the race directors. The more likely scenario in my opinion is that lance just starts bandit-ing races. Either way, within a year nobody is going to give two turds about him. His place in history is secure - no number of road race age-group wins was going to change his tarnished legacy.
That is what I am inclined to believe, as well (that Austin won’t pull sanctioning), but Lancelot still has quite the following in certain circles, and this is Texas.
