August Half Ironman in the West?

With Half Vineman now full, I am looking for a quality half ironman distance race in August. Santa Barbara (tweener distance) is an option, but anyone have a good race in this timeframe that is located in CA or PacNorth West?

I strongly recommend you get on the 1/2 Vineman waiting list. Last year, everyone on the waiting list got in the race, and they began accepting applications again in June.

i realize that, but i live here (near the course) and am actually glad it’s full so I don’t have to do it again. Plus, I would like to try something new.

I’m giving Big Kahuna a go on 9/12.

I was also going to recommend Big Kahuna, except that it’s in mid-September, not August. I’ll be there too.
