Can’t remember the guy’s name that won (4:11 sans swim), but Clas B. was 2nd in the mens and Simon W. 5th. DeBoom won the womens race.
Looked like it was a tough day even with no swim.

Just back from the race…had an interesting time w/my lovely loaner bike ;).
I’ve been racing almost 10 years, have done Kona, and an ill fated 1/2 IM at Lake Pleasant, AZ in June…and this was by far the toughest race I have ever done.
Beautiful course, relentless climbing, heat…heinous is the only word I can think of.
Just know I have to go back with a real bike to do the course justice!

I agree gleveq. The run course I would is definitely more difficult than WF. That run was brutal. My plan was to walk up the longer hills, but when everything but a descent is a long hill, it really throws the race plan out the window. One thing they should change is to have about 4 more aid stations on the run. Every 2-3 miles for an aid station is just to far. I should have brought my own drink out there.
The bike was definetly hilly, I saw the fastest bike split was a 2:32.
Only one drafting penalty on the bike for everyone. They weren’t calling drafting during the slow climbs on the course though unless you were just stuck on someones wheel. That is what Shelly was saying after the race. The bike was really crowded in the beginning. I hammered hard for the first 5 miles to get away from everyone. Even still there was traffic the first ten miles of the course. I was probably on my bike in the top ~80 since I started the race at the very front for the first run.
So… any results posted online ?
