surprised this report came in so late, and obviously for this to happen at all. People look down at non IM races as dangerous, but this goes to show it can happen anywhere

I was there, live here, and had no idea this happened.

I had the same thought when I read the article. I was there racing and I had no idea this happened. Looks like he checked in at the 101~ mile mark so happened at the very end of the bike leg.

More than a month later? WTH? How did this go unreported for so long? Terrible for the athlete. I hope he is able to work through this and compete again. I just can’t believe people still drink and drive. The irresponsibility just astounds me.
