Assos ads - does this offend you?

Based on all the viewpoints flying around, just curious what people think of these ads (someone brought them up in another thread). Straight from the Assos web page… http://www.assos.com/...article=63&color

And so I don’t offend anyone…I’ll post the other side too

No I’m not offended, and no I wasn’t offended by the other picture either. I do have a question though. Was the original picture going around being used to sell something? If I’m not mistaken I don’t think these pics are showing anything that could be displayed on a bookstore shelf either.

Guess what I’m saying is there really is no comparison here, IMHO.

Nudity in advertising does not offend me. And as someone who actually works in advertising, I am always interested to see it and know that a particular client was willing to go along with it. That doesn’t happen very often!

it’s more of an issue for me that the girl doesn’t look much like a cyclist (who knows - maybe she is). and that her bib-pants are incredibly ugly and look uncomfortable.

Offend? No. But the ad is stupid, IMO. Do you wear the sports bra over or under?

Offend me? No. Make me want to buy the product? No also.

Do you wear the sports bra over or under?

I think if you asked her, her answer would be…“no”.

Paul.

you don’t see them in the first photo, you know they won’t be in the other photos either.

and yet, you keep scrolling down, hope against hope.

I’ll only take offense if I find out those aren’t real cyclists/triathletes in the ad.
.

Offend me? No. Make me want to buy the product? No also.
x2

in fact I would veer away from the product because to me it says they do not take athleticism seriously. I care about how my equipment, including clothing, performs.

No the ads don’t offend me. The prices of assos stuff does offend my bank balance though.

I do want to buy the short john cycling bib. Just need to take out a bank loan.

Does the girl have the long john on backwards?

I was reading around on their website and they advise anyone with out an athletic build to not by their product. I guess for the skinny only. I was going to take out a loan to buy one of their socks but I don’t know if my foot is athletic enough. I say stick with Pearl Izumi.

I guess I did not get far enough into their site - saw the model with no muscle tone and got turned off.
I do have an athletic build - but if I am going to drop serious change on technical clothing I want to know they know what an athletic build is! I like all my pearl izumi bike gear, REI/lululemon/shorthill running gear, tyr swim suits - have not yet figured out the tri shorts/shirt I will wear - I know I won’t be looking at assos…

It doesn’t offend me. But, I sure would like to know what is so interesting that the guys are staring at. Maybe they’re watching the female photo shoot from across the room?

they’re trying to find her implant scars - but she covered her nipples up
.

The name of the company offends me.

"But, I sure would like to know what is so interesting that the guys are staring at. Maybe they’re watching the female photo shoot from across the room? "

More likely it is a mirror.

Hahahahahahaha!

Very Zoolander.

LOL! Good point!

Never seen Zoolander but I know the premise.
