That is what the professionally done 3X4 foot sign says as it is prominently displayed over the garage of my parents next door neighbors. They live on Bow Lake in Northwood, NH. I saw it yesterday and while I am the exact opposite of a prude, I wasnt too happy to have to explain it to my virginal 8 and 10 year old girls. My questions are these…
Does freedom of speech cover vulgarity.
If so, how far can you go. Can I put up a sign that says, Kill the Jews? Or how about Motherfu#$ers Rule?
Is it local laws that allow or forbid?
How do you get it down…the police have been called by many neighbors and they say its his right. I say put up a sign that say Kill the Police and see how long it stays up.
Wouldnt a call to the local investigative reporter at the newspaper probably get more done?
Thoughts.
“1. Does freedom of speech cover vulgarity.” Fuck yeah.
“2. If so, how far can you go. Can I put up a sign that says, Kill the Jews? Or how about Motherfu#$ers Rule?” Put the signs up but you will have to live the problems it creates.
“3. Is it local laws that allow or forbid?” Yep. Freedom of speech is dead in america.
“4. How do you get it down…the police have been called by many neighbors and they say its his right. I say put up a sign that say Kill the Police and see how long it stays up.” Talk to him and see why the problem is. If no solution can be found realise that sware words are words and the only matter because we think they do.
You could explain to them that some people are, in fact, assholes (which he has taken the time to clarify for all who may have suspected as much) and that those people rarely consider others in how they conduct themselves. It should in no way affect your or your kids’ lives whatsoever.
Seriously, they’re gonna see that word hundreds of thousands of times in the future. Why not just address it once with the kids & let it go. The bigger the deal is made about it, the longer it remains a focal point for them. Much bigger fish to fry out there IMO.
As others have said, target practice;) Or check with the city. I know here that they are sticklers for signs. Does he need/have a permit for it, is the area zoned for it? The cops won’t do anything, but if there is a bylaw that could get it stopped.?
In increasing levels of complexity, try the following: Anybody speak with the owner and ask him to take it down? Does the neighborhood have CC&R’s? (set of rules governing the 'hood) Is there a city ordinance that is relevant? Ask the building inspector or code enforcement to stop by his house and have a chat. Last, you could always sue him for maintaining a nusiance.
You should TP his house- Aren’t assholes and toilet paper made for each other? and if you are caught in the act just expalin that you were trying to help him clean up his own mess.
Hey i will gladly donate a roll or two to the cause. Maybe we can start a collection for you. imagine the fun you could have?? I have gone TP-ing in close to 20 years.
You should TP his house- Aren’t assholes and toilet paper made for each other? and if you are caught in the act just expalin that you were trying to help him clean up his own mess.
This is classic.
Spicoli: The part about killing jews is not funny. At all.
