Assessing IM bike performance (power -> speed)

At IMFL recently, I rode 5:19:xx on AP=173w and NP=179w. I weighed ~140lbs (63.5kg), though the advantages of this are minimized at IMFL. I’m trying to figure out if this is ok, or if I should have gone faster on that power. Is there an easy way to assess this?

A bit more info…I rode an Argon18 E-112 (and did have a Retul fit) with a FLO60 front and FLO disc rear, and a nutrition bottle on the downtube. I wore an LG P-09. Due to the cold weather, I had less-than-optimal clothing on from an aero perspective (cycling jersey which isn’t as tight as I’d like, knee warmers which wrinkle, etc.). It was a very windy day, FWIW.

Thanks in advance.

It was a tougher wind year and having to wear the looser clothes I think that seems like pretty reasonable speed on that power for your size. I have a friend that weighs about that and he pushed right around those same watts and was about 20 minutes slower for what it’s worth. I didn’t race it this year but last year I went 5:19 on 165 watts and I weighed 180. But last year’s conditions were probably some of the easiest I’ve ever biked in.

Whats your height? That matters as much or more that as weight in terms of frontal area. I’m guessing 5’8"? Looking at your weight. I’d say it’s pretty good overall looking at the times for the female pros that are making simiar power, though might be just a little bit smaller even. So I’d say very good. But there’s always room for improvement. Hard to say much else without pics.

I’m 5’9".

I talked to one guy on the run who said he biked 20 min faster the year before, but that’s the only reference I have. I figured the wind might make it a difficult question to answer.

I’ve heard the same 20 min figure from a few people who did both (on ~equal power)

plus I was 20 min slower than I was hoping
