Fly it? Ship it? Is there anything special since you are flying into an island…I have flown and shipped mine to Ironman but never to Hawaii

it’s no different than anywhere else. I flew Delta non-stop. I checked it, paid too much and it was there when I arrived.
Fly it there and ship it back…
We have always flown with the bike to Kona. We have to make multiple stops and use one of the regional airlines to Kona from Honolulu. We check all the baggage through to Kona from our origination. We even flew with two bikes the three times Joe did Xterra on Maui the week after. In 16 trips, the worst was the bike came into Kona on a later flight, same day. Maybe we are just lucky.
Joe doesn’t like to ship the bike as he trains on it to the last day. We also often go out a week before Kona for final training week.
Fly it there and ship it back… X2
